Happy Monday Loves!
Wow, it sure does feel good to be back and talking to you guys again. I’ve been gone for a week and a half entertaining family. My sister, Melanie, and my mother came to see us for Memorial Day weekend and then some! It sure was a good time but left absolutely no time to write and work on the website.
You may also notice, I haven’t done a week in review in quite some time. It started to feel really repetitive after just a few weeks so from now on, I’ll be doing week in reviews on special occasions or holidays!
It was a fun-filled Memorial Day Week. Let’s get into it shall we?
May 26th- June 3rd 2016
My mom and sister flew in and got the weekend started! We swam in the pool, BBQ’d, and had some yummy local cuisine. We had a visit to the Panhandle Butterfly House which we haven’t been to in the almost 2 years we lived here, so it was nice to finally see it. We decided to not go to the beach that weekend because it was going to be crazy crowded. We did however visit the park right on the sound and although it rained a bit, it was totally worth it.
Next stop, New Orleans! We left for NOLA on Memorial Day which did yield a bit of traffic but not bad at all. When we arrived, it was raining. Actually it seemed to rain every single day we were there but luckily it wasn’t an all day event. We walked the French Quarter, hit Bourbon Street, and shopped at the River Market. One of my favorite parts was riding the trolley!
When we returned from NOLA, we had a few days to head to the beach. Lunch on Navarre beach at Lagerheads was a must do and walking the pier. Great places to visit if you are ever on the Gulf Shore. The view from both places is spectacular.
Sadly, all good things come to an end and I had to say goodbye to my family. I’ll be seeing them again soon in the weeks to come and I can’t wait.
How did you spend your Memorial Day Weekend?
