I can’t believe it! My one year Blogiversary; one year since I started this blog. It’s unreal. I’ll be honest with you, when I started, I had no idea what I was doing or what I was getting myself into. It seemed simple enough: get website, open blog, write stuff. Boy, was I ever wrong. If you are reading this and thinking, “Really what is the big deal? It looks so easy” … you have absolutely no idea. Lots of time and effort goes into running a successful and profitable blog. It’s something I’ve learned over the year and I still have a long way to go. One thing that hasn’t changed, though, and that is wanting to encourage and help my TTC sisters and my military family.
As my life changes and things happen, this has been the place I can share my frustrations with others who are going through the same challenges as me. In return, I hope I can help you understand that you aren’t alone. Life with infertility and a military family isn’t easy but I really believe that together, we can overcome any challenges we may encounter. I hope you will stay with me for years and years to come.
For shits and giggles, here is my very first blog post. I know it’s horrible but you got to start somewhere right? Here we go! Thank you for stopping by…..
Some of my best post from the year
I have a total of almost 100 posts from the year but, they can’t all be winners. Some of my post are things I don’t blog about anymore and others are when I was blogging 4x a week and feeling like I needed to fill a quota. Now that I’ve settled into posting once a week, I’m posting more quality and everyone knows: quality always wind over quantity.
Here is my short list of my most popular post (meaning the most shared and commented):
- Friends with Infertility: 7 Ways to not be an Asshole – Guest post by www.kidsncomicsblog.com
- Dependa – Why you aren’t one and you’ll never be one
- Miscarriage: One father’s perspective
- Chemical Pregnancy: What it is, my symptoms, and how I knew.
- Should husbands be at every single doctors appointment?
To Those Who Have Helped Me This Year… THANK YOU!
If someone told you they have grown a successful blog all by themselves, THEY ARE LYING! You may be able to run this machine alone but along the way you need help. You need a more seasoned bloggers advice, guidance, accountability. Eventually when your blog blows up to superstar status, you need people to help run your blog. I’m not at the point yet that I need a staff, but I did and still need people to help guide me and tell me what’s right or wrong. I’d like to take the time to thanks these individuals here and now.
Jen from kidsncomicsblog.com
Jen has been my editor for the past few months now and she’s incredible. Not to mention, she’s my best friend! Not only can she edit but she can write ya’ll! I’ve convinced her to start her own blog! Make sure to go visit her blog guys, it’s so good and funny. Did I mention her guest post is my most popular post on this blog so far with over 800 shared! I ain’t hating at all (ok maybe a little lol).
Tabitha Philen inspiredbloggersuniversity.com
Not really sure how I found Tabitha and The Inspired Blogger Network Facebook Page but I’m so incredibly blessed I did. I’ve learned so much from Tabitha and the over 11,000 members in the group. I know I wouldn’t have come as far as I have without them. As a proud paid member of the Inspired Blogger University, I have access to a wealth of information and lessons ranging from SEO to becoming an influencer. I’ve also had a one-on-one meeting with her when I was stuck on what direction my blog should go in. That meeting has really set me up for success.
Joanna Guldin-Noll jomygosh.com
I’ve only know Joanna a few month but she’s been an incredible help to me. She is the owner and operator of Jo, My Gosh and the Director of Content Operations at militaryoneclick.com. She gave me my first paid guest post opportunity and since I was completely new to that process, she was incredibly patient with me and answered all my questions. I can’t thank her enough and look forward to a long and happy working relationship with her.
Tiffany Stroud seeingsunshine.com
Tiffany has pretty much been there for me since I started my blog. I noticed her liking and commenting on my post as her Facebook page. I went over and looked at her blog and felt a connection right away. We were both military spouses, both going through infertility, both had similar beliefs and personalities. Not only did I like her, I loved her blog setup. I messaged her a few times to ask questions and she was sweet enough to help me out and answer to the best of her knowledge. She is actually the person who introduced me to Joanna which was an incredible connection! Tiffany is amazing and I’m so blessed to know her.
Julie Provost soliderswifecrazylife.com
Julie has one of the most popular Facebook pages for military spouses with over 15,000 likes! That’s just incredible to me. I’ll be excited when I get 1,000 lol. She commented on a post I had in the inspired network Facebook group. I do try to look at everyone’s blog and see who the person is who is give me a helping hand so I went to Julie’s page (wow) and website. I contacted her a few times with questions and even asked if she would be so kind as to share a Facebook post of mine. The post was actually the first time I got any amount of traffic to my blog. I also wrote a guest post for her blog about the base my husband is currently stationed at which you can read right here!
I’m sure there are more people I left out but know that I’m so grateful for you! Some people might see other bloggers as competition but that is so far from the reality. The truth is that there are more than enough for us all. Coming together and helping each other is how we will all succeed. These ladies know that and I’m so glad they have and are a part of my journey. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. <3
