If you ask any military wife, nothing beats the homecoming for their deployed spouse. It’s pretty much all the best holidays wrapped into one, beautiful day.
I don’t know about you guys, but I always get dressed up and try to look my absolute best for my husband. Even after 8, yes 8, of these homecomings, it’s important to me that in the first moment of seeing me he thinks I look absolutely beautiful.Want to see my homecoming style? Click on the link! Personally, I dress to the 9s with a dress and heels while some like to keep is casual with jeans and a top. To each his own, but I always go for the dress. I know how much my husband loves my legs and it’s all about making him happy.
Makeup is also a must do and for that, I was lucky to have Infuenster send me this lip pencil 020 and matching lipstick in Honeycomb both from Bite Beauty to test out their new lip pencils for free just before he got here. The pencil went on so smooth and creamy. I usually hate the way lip pencils feel on my lips, but not this one. This formula is a winner for me. On top of my lips, I also added Bobbi Brown lip gloss in Bellini which is my absolute favorite. I think my lip look came out perfect. You certainly don’t want to wear anything too dark because it will get all over your man. Kisses are a sure thing at homecoming!
For my outfit, I chose this dress from American living and these shoes from Vince Camuto (no longer available but you’ll love these) that I purchased at Dillard’s. This dress is such a great fit for my body type and looks so classy and sophisticated. I always try to go for timeless dresses that I can wear again and again and I definitely found that with this one. Same with these shoes! I love shoes; they are my favorite thing to buy and I’m in love with the gold tones and the shine. Another piece I will wear for years!
With that, deployment #8 is in the books and I’m so glad this one is over. It will hopefully be another year (fingers crossed) before he has to head out again. Right now we are deciding what we should do with his 2-week recon. North Caroline might be calling our name!
