You got to the love the weekend, right? A time you can just relax and unwind from your long week. Friday and Saturdays are my jam. I usually don’t cook and I certainly don’t do any work at all. If hubby and I have projects then we tackle them but I do no blog work and he doesn’t go into work (usually). Sundays I get into preparation mode and do all the little things that will just make my week productive and run better and just be so much easier. I swear if one thing isn’t done on Sunday that should be, it completely throws my week off starting first thing Monday morning. And that’s never a good way to start out an already crazy day. Mondays. Ugh.
If you are feeling overwhelmed on Monday morning, maybe you need to do more prep work on Sunday night. Not sure what you need to be doing? No worries, I’m here to help! This is everything I do on Sunday night to get ready for an amazing week.
Write out my schedule for the week
I just adore my cute little Kate Spade Planner. Always take the time every Sunday to decorate it a bit and write down everything that is going on that week that I may have put on my phone. I also go through my purse and pull out appointment cards and any other places I may have written an appointment. I also get put my to do’s together and organize them by day. It’s basically a big brain dump for me right before my crazy week begins. I highly recommend getting yourself a paper planner. Even if you don’t spend the time an energy I do making it beautiful, it helps me mentally prepare for whatever’s coming up. It’s like life homework. You won’t regret it.
Meal Planning for the Week
One of the biggest challenges any family has is what to cook for dinner every night. I used to scramble around the day of, think about what to cook, do the shopping. It was a horrible mess. Thankfully, I’ve wised up and now on Sunday nights, I look through Pinterest to find recipes I’ve either pinned or search for something new. I usually cook dinner 5 nights out of the week: Monday-Thursday and always on Sunday nights. Once I find 5 recipes I like, I leave them open on my desktop and go to the next to do which is…..
Now that I have my recipes, it’s time to go to the Walmart Grocery website and order everything I need for the week. I go through each recipe and order the ingredients I don’t have on hand. I also keep a running list on Amazon’s Alexa App of things we need. Whenever we run out of something, I simply ask Alexa to add it to the shopping list. All I have to do is pull it up and order it. So easy. I do my grocery pick up on Monday morning. Grocery shopping has never been easier. I love it!
Since it’s just me and my husband we can get away with doing laundry just once a week. I know most families have to do it multiple times a week but even if you have to start laundry on Friday, having all your clothing fresh and clean for Monday morning and put away is an amazing feeling. … And if putting them all away is too hard, still prep for Monday morning. Don’t make Monday’s any harder than they already are!
Sunday night is the perfect time to shave your legs, give yourself that home facial, or have a long bubble bath. Whatever it is that makes you feel amazing and something you do just for yourself, Sunday night is the perfect time to get it done. Clear your head before you spend a whole week adding more to it. Now that’s what I call starting your week off right!
Clean the kitchen
Having a clean, fresh, kitchen with no dishes in the sink and everything put away is a must in my house. I can’t stress this enough. If you do nothing else on my list, make this the absolute take away. There is nothing worst then trying to cook Monday night and having a sink full of dishes or the one pot you need is dirty. Plus there’s just something relaxing about seeing your sink empty and the counters clean. I swear walking past my clean kitchen gives me more peace than anything!
